Hallelujah? The Heathen Vermonters Beat Us

We are no longer the least religious state in the union, at least in terms of percentage change since 1990 (h/t kos).

Those heathen Vermonters beat us by a single percentage point.

Snark aside, if you click the link and take a look at who shares company with us, it looks like New England leads the way in non-religiosity.

Vanderbeek goes into lobbying

Republican political consultant Debra Vanderbeek has registered to be a lobbyist for two companies in New Hampshire.

During this past election cycle, Vanderbeek was a consultant for the failed congressional campaigns of former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) and former state Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson). Vanderbeek also managed Mike Huckabee's campaign in the New Hampshire presidential primary.

It was a strategy that didn't even work for Bob Clegg in his Republican primary last week, but this morning Executive Council candidate Russell Prescott is proudly touting the endorsement of Mike Huckabee.

Like Clegg, Prescott, a former state senator, endorsed Huckabee in this year's presidential primary.

Hurst says Palin will help McCain carry Manchester

MINNEAPOLIS--The Manchester chairman for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign says that his Gov. Sarah Palin will help McCain win the Queen City in November.

"I think he's going to do much better because of this selection," Cliff Hurst told PolitickerNH.com. Hurst said the pick has energized conservative voters in Manchester.

Hurst, former Gov. Mike Huckabee's New Hampshire campaign co-chair, said he is not disappointed that Huckabee was not selected as vice-president.

Huckabee: Don’t demonize Obama

BEDFORD -- Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee warned his fellow Republicans that they would not win the November election by attacking Barack Obama, now the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.

"As Republicans we would make a huge mistake this year if we think we're going to win the election by demonizing Barack Obama," Huckabee said at the annual luncheon of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women at C.R. Sparks in Bedford.

Huckabee to campaign for Clegg

Clegg first featured candidate for new Huckabee PAC

Former Arkansas Governor, and Republican presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee has started a new political action committee called "Huck PAC."

"Huck PAC is founded on the principles that make America great: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness," the PAC's website states. "We will identify candidates who hold firm to these principles, promote their campaigns and financially support their efforts."

The first candidate Huckabee is supporting is State Senator Bob Clegg (R-Hudson).
