Former top White House official Karl Rove will be interviewed tomorrow as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into the firing of U.S. attorneys during the Bush administration, according to two sources familiar with the appointment.

Rove has remained in the news as a commentator and political analyst since departing the White House. In an essay in today's Wall Street Journal, he criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), arguing that she may have misled the public about her knowledge of detainee interrogation tactics that critics assert are torture.

NH-02: This 'Aint Your Daddy's NHGOP

It must be really odd to be Charlie Bass these days.  He (wisely, imho) sits out a cycle, only to return and discover his party has marched hard to the right, and increasingly out of reach from a district such as the one he used to serve.

I mean, can you imagine the BassMaster in a NH-02 primary debate with Jennifer Horn, who twitter-cheers governors that keep help out of the hands of the unemployed during a severe economic crisis?

Or Milford's Len Mannino, who has announced an interest in the race?  On his blog he talks about how we Democrats "screw" hard working Americans.

"Excessive government spending will not bolster the economy"

March 11th, 2009, Fairfax, VAAmericans For Limited Government (ALG) today released an exclusive video interview with Republican Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. (TX-CD26).

Topics ranged from healthcare reform and the economic crisis to the commuter rail lines in Texas. Congressman Burgess also proposed tax cuts as a remedy for the nation's economic woes.

“[W]e've seen this before, we saw it with Kennedy, we saw it with Reagan, we saw it with Bush in 2003,” said Burgess in the interview. “You want the economy to hum, you help the people who actually make it work in the first place. And that would be… the place I would start.

Friday Humor - out of the mouths of babes

Just received this from our friend Em (who blogs over at American Princess - she sometimes lets me sit at the foot of the throne and tap out a coupla guest posts there)

So I've been visiting friends in Louisiana for the last few days, partly to catch up because I haven't seen them in forever, and partly because I love Mardi Gras and thanks to a special surprise, I was actually able to go this year and enjoy it. I love everything about the south: the food, the pace of life, the fact that my skin doesn't get dry and that people walk around with funny hats on for no reason and don't get self-conscious.

Two peas in a pod?

A Concord Monitor analysis finds that freshmen U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) share more than just the same political affiliation.

"Both have sided with House Democratic leaders on about 98 percent of votes, according to congressional voting records records," The Monitor concluded.

Hodes says Bush should not attend Olympic opening ceremonies

Congressman Paul Hodes (D-Concord) says President Bush should not attend the opening ceremonies of the upcoming Olympic Games.

The games are taking place in Beijing and have become the center controversy over China's human rights record and the recent crisis in Tibet.

Calling China's human rights record "abysmal," Hodes called on Bush to boycott the opening ceremonies.
