Poll has Bradley beating Shea-Porter, Hodes leading potential opponents

A UNH poll contains good news for U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) but show trouble for U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester).

According to The Granite State Poll, Shea-Porter is losing to former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) 46 percent to 40 percent. However, the same poll has Shea-Porter beating Bradley's primary rival, former Health and Human Services Commissioner John Stephen 42 percent to 36 percent.

Bosse says bariatric surgery bill example of ‘Bob Clegg’s Nanny State’

Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) is taking aim at state Sen. Bob Clegg's (R-Hudson) support for a bill that would require insurance companies to cover bariatric surgery, also known as gastric bypass.

Clegg had the weight loss surgery last year and Gov. Lynch signed Clegg's bill earlier this week.

Bosse announces ‘Bosse’s Posse’

Some might call it a campaign steering committee or a leadership team, but Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) has nicknamed his supporters "Bosse's Posse."

The "posse" is a group of volunteers who have endorsed Bosse and will campaign for him throughout the 2nd congressional district.

Members include Karen Cervantes, Jim Rubens and Walt Morse.

Bosse raises $20K in 2Q

Over the past three months, 2nd Congressional District candidate Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) raised $20,091.55.

During the second quarter, Bosse spent $15,878.19 and ended the period with $12,850.61 cash-on-hand.

Bosse is running in the 2nd Congressional District primary against Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua), Jim Steiner (R-Concord) and state Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson).

Hodes raises $250,000 over quarter

U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) raised $250,000 over the last three months, his campaign announced today. The Hodes campaign also said that it has $980,000 cash-on-hand.

"I am proud to have earned the support of so many people," Hodes said in a statement. "I have been working hard every day to change Washington since I was elected, and it is clear that my campaign will have the resources it needs to effectively communicate my desire for more change and my record of standing up for working New Hampshire families."

Prominent Salem activist endorses Horn

Judy Galluzzo will serve as Horn's Salem Town Chair and Rockingham County co-chair. Galluzzo will also be a member of Horn's executive committee.

Petrones host fundraiser for Horn

The Petrones are honorary co-chairmen of her campaign for congress.

According to a campaign press release, 90 people attended the event at their house in Dublin with guest speaker Daveed Gartstein-Ross, Vice President of Research for the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.

Clegg downplays Republican label

John McCain (R-Ariz.) will win the Granite State in the fall not because McCain is a Republican but because he is "independent." In the same editorial, Clegg, a state senator, says he also represents the "mind-set" of voters.

Bosse proposes reforms of franked mail for U.S. House members

CONCORD -- 2nd Congressional District Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) laid-out three steps he would take to reform congressional "franking privileges."

The "franking privilege" allows U.S. House members to send free mailings to constituents and must be seen by a bi-partisan congressional committee before being mailed.

Bosse contends the reforms are needed after it was reported that U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) has spent $130,000 on the free mailers sent to constituents in the 2nd Congressional District.
