After the Show - 3/7/09 - Granite State Patriots

I think it is fair to say those on the Right who are astute and have been watching the eroding of traditional values, especially here in NH, are not happy.  During the show yesterday, I mentioned a new group called the Granite State Patriots (their website is here).

Sister papers split endorsement in state senate campaign

The Hampton Union and The Portsmouth Herald have endorsed separate candidates in the Senate district 24 race.

The Hampton Union endorsed political newcomer Christian Callahan (R-Portsmouth), while The Portsmouth Herald endorsed state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth). Seacoast Media Group owns both papers.

In endorsing Callahan, The Hampton Union said that Clark has ignored the Hampton area and has given preferential treatment to Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Herald endorses Stephen

Noting that there are "two quality candidates" in the Republican primary for the 1st Congressional District, the Portsmouth Herald endorsed John Stephen on Tuesday.

"While we do not agree with him on a number of issues [...] we believe his call for fiscally conservative policies and practices and his determination to hold lawmakers accountable for their votes will provide a needed burst of idealism in the halls of Congress," says the editorial.

Demers, Dinan included on Dodds' witness list

Among the names listed on the Gary Dodds witness list is political consultant Jim Demers and Portsmouth Herald reporter Elizabeth Dinan.

Demers, who served has an advisor to Barack Obama’s New Hampshire campaign, said he did not know why his name is on the list.
