Martin withdraws recount request

Democratic state senate candidate Bud Martin (D-Center Sandwich) has called his opponent state Sen.-elect Bill Denley (R-Wakefield) to tell him that Martin is withdrawing his request for a recount in the senate District 3 race.

After losing to Denley by 526 votes Martin requested that the New Hampshire Secretary of State conduct a recount. The recount was scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday but will now not take place.

Martin's withdrawal makes it official that the Democrats maintain a 14-10 majority in the state senate.
