Gallus hitting the pavement in re-election bid

Incumbent state Sen. John Gallus (R-Berlin) told PolitickerNH.com that he is working 12 to 14 hour days trying to get re-elected to the Senate District 1 seat.

Gallus is running for re-election against state Rep. Martha McLeod (D-Franconia).

McLeod: North Country ready for a change

State Rep. Martha McLeod (D-Franconia) said that voters in the North Country are ready to change who represents them in the state senate.

McLeod is running against current state Sen. John Gallus (R-Berlin) in Senate District 1, which covers the northern part of the state.

"I think I'm going to win and I hear over and over from voters that they want to see a change," McLeod said in an interview with PolitickerNH.com. "They've had enough of politics that hasn't worked for them and they want a new direction for the North Country."

Lynch goes north for state senate candidates

Tomorrow, Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) will campaign for two state senate candidates the Democratic Party thinks can help increase their majority in the state senate.

Lynch will campaign for senate district three candidate Bud Martin (D-Center Sandwich) in Wolfeboro and then stump for state Rep. Martha McLeod (D-Franconia) in Littleton.

Martin is running against state Rep. Bill Denley (R-Wakefield) and McLeod is running against current state Sen. John Gallus (R-Berlin) in senate district one.

Update: McLeod running for state senate

State Rep. Martha McLeod (D-Franconia) is running for the state senate.

McLeod will be facing current state Sen. John Gallus (R-Berlin) for the District 1 seat.

She has formed a PAC with a stated purpose of "Financing Martha McLeod for State Senate."

At the time of this posting McLeod has not returned an e-mail or phone call requesting comment.

UPDATE: McLeod has officially declared that she is running for the state senate.
