Gilmour ekes out win in SD-12

In the three-way state senate race in district 12, political newcomer Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis) was able to beat Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) and Betty Hall (D-Hollis) in a close election.

With 86 percent of precincts reporting, Gilmour beat LaFlamme by 658 votes.

"I think I was able to get people to see that I was a very good choice, that I was a sensible person who could make good decisions," Gilmour said. "I think that I was certainly helped by fact that many people wanted a Democratic majority or Democrats in power."

Clemons calls state senate races ‘tight’

NASHUA--State Rep. Jane Clemons (D-Nashua) said that she expects both state senate races in Nashua to be "tight" on Election Day.

In state senate District 13, state Rep. Betty Lasky (D-Nashua) is running against Nashua school board member Sandra Ziehm (R-Nashua), while voters in state senate District 12 are witnessing a three-way race between Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua), Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis) and state Rep. Betty Hall (I-Hollis).

"I think both of them are going to be tight on election night," Clemons told PolitickerNH.com.

Hall is wild card in SD-12 race

In the race to replace retiring state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua), a well-known state representative is poised to potentially play the spoiler.

In the senate District 12 race, there is a three way match between Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis), Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) and state Rep. Betty Hall (I-Brookline). Hall is best known for introducing resolutions to impeach President Bush and Vice-President Cheney in the New Hampshire House.

LaFlamme thinks Hall will pull votes from all candidates

NASHUA-State Senate candidate Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) thinks the possibility that state Rep. Betty Hall (I-Brookline) will appear on the November ballot as a competitor will make the race "close."

Hall is staging an independent bid to appear on the ballot in the district 12 state Senate race between LaFlamme and Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis).

Hall submits 1200 signatures

Hall busy collecting signatures

State Rep. Betty Hall needs another 230 signatures to gain access to the New Hampshire ballot.

Hall, of Hollis, is running as an independent for the state senate in District 12 and has until August 6th to hand-in 750 signatures.

Hall's campaign has e-mailed supporters requesting their help in gaining more signatures.

LaFlamme officially files, endorsed by Crane

LaFlamme is running for the Senate District 12 seat.

LaFlamme to run for state senate

Former state Rep. Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua) has decided to run for the state senate.

LaFlamme will be competing for the seat being abandoned by state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua).

"I'm bringing a specialized skillset to the Capitol when it's needed," LaFlamme said. "I have the ability to watch the bottom line."

LaFlamme said the budget crisis would be a priority for his campaign.

"With rising food prices and oil prices, everybody is struggling. While that is going on the state budget has expanded."

LaFlamme ‘seriously leaning’ toward run

Former state Rep. Paul LaFlamme says he is "seriously leaning" towards running for the state senate.

"I've been considering running for a couple of weeks now and now that Harry has made his decision I'm seriously leaning towards running," LaFlamme told PolitickerNH.com. "I've got to talk to some people and will make a decision within a day-or-two."

Haytayan takes a pass at state senate

Citing business obligations, Harry Haytayan (R-Nashua) has decided not to run for the state senate.

Rumors were circulating that Haytayan would run for the seat now held by state Sen. David Gottesman (D-Nashua).

Gottesman is retiring and Peggy Gilmour (D-Hollis) has announced she will run for the seat.
