Kelly looking to raise $7K by deadline

Earlier this week, state Sen. Molly Kelly (D-Keene) emailed supporters in an attempt to raise money before the next fundraising deadline.

Kelly is hoping to raise $7,000 by August 18, the deadline when candidates must submit their next round of fundraising numbers.

"It is essential that we move forward and build on our accomplishments, keeping the focus on building a strong economy, providing an equal opportunity for education, mandating safe schools, ensuring a clean and healthy environment and protecting a women's right to choose," Kelly wrote.

Tom Eaton announces bid to reclaim seat in state Senate

Former state Senate President Tom Eaton (R-Keene) has decided to try to reclaim his former seat in New Hampshire's 10th state Senate district.  

Eaton was unseated by state Sen. Molly Kelly (D-Keene) two years ago by slightly more than 4,000 votes. In a statement issued this afternoon, he promised to deliver a balanced budget and cited Kelly's fiscal policies as a key reason why he decided to make a bid for her seat.

Eaton forms PAC for state senate race

CONCORD- Former state Sen. Tom Eaton (R-Keene) has formed a political action committee.

According to the filing, the "Friends of Tom Eaton" PAC was established for a run at the state senate.

Eaton told us earlier this week that he was considering running but would not make a decision until next week.

Eaton considering rematch

Former state Sen. Tom Eaton (R-Keene) is considering running for his old seat.

Eaton told PolitickerNH.com that he is thinking about running against state Sen. Molly Kelly (D-Keene), but hasn't made a decision.

"I haven't yet made a decision," he said. "I will decide by June 13." That is the last day of the filing period.

In 2006 Eaton lost to Kelly by 4,480 votes for the District 10 senate seat.

Eaton gets back at Clegg

Calling Jennifer Horn "a true conservative" former State Senate President Tom Eaton has endorsed the former radio talk show host for Congress.

The move is no surprise to political insiders who remember how in the September of 2005 State Sen. Clegg, who is running against Horn, led a coup of sorts against Eaton, then the Senate President. After losing the Senate presidency, Eaton then lost his own re-election in 2006.

Education funding could make gov contest interesting

In his State of the State address this week Gov. John Lynch talked a lot about what he wants, but very little about what he needs.

Lynch said he wants no additional state spending this year. He wants to boost the North Country's economy. He wants health insurance companies to offer "wellness" plans to businesses. He wants an online child safety act. He also wants the state to join a regional greenhouse gas initiative.
