Cullen 'delighted' by Palin pick

DENVER-The chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party says he is "delighted" by the pick of Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) for vice-president.

"First I'm delighted," Fergus Cullen said. "Sarah Palin has a record as a reformer and bringing changing to the Alaskan Republican Party. She has fought the establishment like Ted Stevens and Don Young that has quite frankly been a part of the problem."

Cullen said that Palin brings executive experience to the ticket.

Buckley comments on Palin

DENVER-New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley says U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) must convince Americans that Gov. Sarah Palin's (R-Alaska) "extremist views" would not prevail.

McCain has selected Palin to be the Republican vice-presidential candidate.

"We anxiously await Governor Palin's introduction to America," Buckley said in a statement. "We are curious as to how Senator McCain will attempt to convince Middle America that Palin's extremist views will not prevail."
