Let Me Guess - The Public Is To Blame?

I have to conclude that the fact that about 80% of the citizens of the United States no longer believe Obey-Won can only mean one thing to the press - that they're stupid, need more prime time speeches on every network, need more of their businesses to be run by the Won and his donors, and have too many rights. MRC reports on their puzzlement:
Long after conservatives and the American people figured it out, CBS on Monday night came to the realization President Barack Obama has a “credibility” problem fueled by the “disconnect” between Obama's promise to reduce the deficit as he pushes for massive new spending.

You Gotta Wonder

You really have to wonder about their sanity when you read liberal press and hear liberal pundits and more pundits reporters when they talk about how dead the Republicans and conservatism is and then actually look at polls.

Obey-Won's approval rating? Toilet:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President...

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance.

I Don't Get It

Obama China Town Hall: Select Audience, Easy Questions
It was a town hall, but this time Barack Obama was not in Iowa or New Hampshire. There were no hay bales, no bunting and no activists with questions about universal health care, clean coal or legalizing marijuana. This forum, after all, was being held in a nation controlled by the Communist Party.

Instead of being greeted by voters mulling their options, Obama on Monday met with several hundred well-dressed, attentive and relentlessly on-message students, handpicked by Chinese authorities for the occasion. They listened attentively, nodding in agreement at some of his answers and laughing at his jokes.

Something To Keep In Mind While Christmas Shopping

I know how it goes - even with the down economy you're going to be out at the stores looking at "unbelievable" and "outrageous" deals this Christmas season. And you're going to spend a bit more than you planned - after all, you're going to efile in January and have your refund in time to pay off the credit card balances, right?

Just bear in mind that the IRS is going to be coming after some of you next year for that "tax cut" that Obama "gave you".
More than 15 million taxpayers could unexpectedly owe taxes when they file their federal returns next spring because the government was too generous with their new Making Work Pay tax credit.

Your Random Saturday

Thomas Sowell makes it look easy on health care:
If the government has some magic way of reducing costs-- rather than shifting them around, including shifting them to the next generation-- they have certainly not revealed that secret...

What about insurance companies denying reimbursements for treatments? Does anyone imagine that a government bureaucracy will not do that?

Moreover, the worst that an insurance company can do is refuse to pay for medication or treatment. In some countries with government-run medical systems, the government can prevent you from spending your own money to get the medication or treatment that their bureaucracy has denied you. Your choice is to leave the country or smuggle in what you need.

Obama Disses McChrystal

OK, so Obama gets into office and immediately sets up a group to make suggestions on what to do about Afghanistan. They give recommendations. Obama puts "his guy" in charge, Gen. McChrystal. This is roundly applauded as McChrystal is widely acknowledged as a guy that knows how to do what must be done. McChrystal tells Obama he needs tens of thousands more troops, a surge, to quell rising violence and protect the populace.

Obama commences weeks, months of dithering. The attacks from the right heat up as the attacks on our troops heat up in Afghanistan. They culminate in comments from Dick Cheney who basically tells Obama to stop screwing with our troops, follow the plan that was given to him by the people that he asked to give him a plan, and stop screwing around.

Time To Spin

I sort of wonder why the sudden push to inflate Obama right now by the media. I guess it must be socialized health care, trying to get the insulated Senators to vote against their constituents on the mistaken impression that Obama is popular - which means they should vote for his unpopular ideas. It's all a mess and I know it comes across that way. Obama is NOT popular with voters and his plans are even less popular. Nevertheless, Senators, even more than Representatives, are extremely insulated from this opinion, so the media is trying to saturate the airwaves and press with the mistaken impression that Obey-Won is popular so they should do what he wants.

Turn The Middle Side Topwise

Nothing like a Simpsons' quote* to enliven the train wreck that is the Democratic leadership. I just passed along how the Democrats are trying to grab full control over our economic system (forget about health care's 17%!) by putting the government in charge of basically everything about companies - what they can borrow, what they can sell, what they can lend, what they can pay, what they can do, who they can talk to, what they can have for lunch, what color shirts they can wear...

The important takeaway from that story is that they basically want to take the worst parts of the Fannie/Freddie situation, extend them to the rest of the economy, and make them permanent.

House Socialized Medicine Bill DOA In Senate

Good news:
The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate.

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people."

The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

Hypocrite Of The Day Award

He actually deserves it for the year, but in this case we'll give it to him for the day:President Barack Obama ordered the flags at the White House and other federal buildings be at half-staff and urged people not to draw conclusions while authorities investigate.

"We don't know all the answers yet. And I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts," Obama said in a statement.Whew! Good thing it wasn't a white guy shooting up a bunch of blacks, or a catholic shooting up some muslims (like either of those keep happening)...otherwise jumping to conclusions would be all the rage.

Good job, Obey-Won, wouldn't want to claim the muslim murderer was acting stupidly or anything.
