Neuhardt wants House to pass rescue plan

Attorney Sharen Neuhardt (D-Yellow Springs) wants the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the Senate-approved version of the Economic Stabilization Act to "save the nation's finance system."

"Our nation is in an economic crisis and we must act immediately," Neuhardt said. "I applaud the Senate for passing an economic rescue plan intended to save our credit markets, small businesses, and working families. I'm calling on the House to follow the Senate's lead and put partisan politics aside to act now to prevent a deep recession. We must work to ensure we don't find ourselves in this situation again."

The Neuhardt campaign also criticized opponent state Sen. Steve Austria for taking "thousands of dollars in contributions from the very people who got the country into the worst financial meltdown in the nation’s history."

The Neuhardt campaign says that Austria has taken nearly $150,000 from insurance, finance, and real estate industries.

Neuhardt and Austria are vying to replace retiring U.S. Rep. David Hobson (R-Springfield) in Ohio's 7th Congressional District. Austria is Hobson's chosen successor.
