Triantafilou not interested in chairmanship

Hamilton County Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou told PolitickerOH.com he is not interested in running for the chairmanship of the Ohio Republican Party.

Triantafilou was mentionted as a favorable choice by two detractors of Kevin DeWine who is running for chairman from his current position as deputy chair.

"No, I am not interested, I support Kevin DeWine," Triantafilou said.

Triantafilou was asked if Republicans and conservatives should get behind DeWine for chairman after he upset some by saying the party should trade a social-conservative message for an economic-conservative message.

"I think that Kevin is in the right place to lead us into the future, despite one remark," he said. "I don't think he should be judged on that. He ought to be judged on a career's worth of conservative decision making and supporting conservative causes as a state representative."
