Hamilton GOP urges supporters to join COAST rally

The Hamilton County Republican Party Chair Alex M. Triantafilou is urging supporters to join members of the Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes in a rally to oppose a proposed fee increase for trash collection in the city. The event is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon on the steps of Cincinnati's City Hall.

"We are strongly opposed to an increase in taxes for the beleaguered taxpayers of the city of Cincinnati in the form of a garbage collection fee," Triantafilou said. "This ill-fated attempt to further burden taxpayers is lead by the Democrat appointed city manager and should be rejected by every citizen."

COAST is a Republican advocacy group dedicated to reducing the rate of increases in government taxes and spending in southwest Ohio.

The group was founded in 1999 by state Rep. Tom Brinkman (R-Cincinnati), who is currently finishing his fourth term in the Ohio House, and Christopher P. Finney.
