Obama to tout stimulus -- and jobs for cops -- in Columbus

View the original

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama travels to Columbus on Friday to make remarks during a police training graduation ceremony. Attorney General Eric Holder will be there, too.

Look for them to blend the themes of public safety and the economy, getting credit from Mayor Michael Coleman (an early Obama supporter) for providing money so police recruits could complete their training and begin work, which was jeopardized by budget woes. The money comes from the recently passed $790 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
