$1.3M spent for Dems in three U.S. House races

Democrats just received $1.3 million in help to win three U.S. House seats in Ohio from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

The DCCC purchased six-figure media buys in the 1st, 2nd and 15th Congressional Districts Tuesday, according to the Federal Elections Commission.

Polls shows Dems lead in two House races

Polls commissioned by Survey USA and Roll Call show Democratic U.S. House candidates Mary Jo Kilroy and John Boccieri leading in their efforts to capture GOP U.S. House seats.

Franklin Co. Commissioner Kilroy (D-Columbus) leads state Sen. Steve Stivers (R-Columbus) 47 to 42 percent. Independent Don Eckhart recieves 5 percent and libertarian Mark Noble recieves 3 percent. State Sen. John Boccieri (D-Alliance) leads state Sen. Kirk Schuring (R-Jackson Twp.) by 49 to 41 percent.

NRCC files FEC complaint against Patriot Majority

The liberal advocacy group Patriot Majority is the target of an Federal Elections Commission complaint by the National Republican Congressional Committee.

NRCC chair Tom Cole sent a letter to the FEC today, provided to PolitickerOH.com from the NRCC, asking the commission to investigate Patriot Majority for not defining itself as a federal political committee.

Schmidt camp blasts Dems in response to tax attack

U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Cincinnati)’s campaign blasted local Democrats over their “baseless and juvenile” attack on Schmidt over property taxes.

The Clermont Co. Democratic Party accused Schmidt of not paying her fair share of taxes on a parcel of land in Clermont County as a partial owner in a press release recently. The party said it sounds “fishy” that Schmidt paid $97 in taxes last year on land that Schmidt’s U.S. House financial disclosure form lists as valued at more than $500,000.
