Fudge wins unopposed special election

Former Warrensville Heights Mayor and Congresswoman-elect Marcia Fudge has won the special election to finish out the term of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-Cleveland) in Ohio's 11th Congressional District.

Cuyahoga Dems select Fudge to run for Tubbs Jones seat

Cuyahoga County Democratic leaders selected Warrensville Heights Mayor Marcia Fudge to replace the late U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones as the Democratic nominee on the Nov. 4 ballot in Ohio's 11th Congressional District.

Fudge has previously worked as Tubbs Jones' chief of staff and had received the endorsement of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and Tubbs Jones' predecessor in the 11th District seat, Louis Stokes.

Fudge was selected from a field of five with a vote of 175 out of 281 votes cast by the Cuyahoga County executive committee.
