Ad: Furse and Gordly voting for Smith

A new ad for U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) features two Oregon Democrats who say they will vote for the incumbent senator. According to the ad, former U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Furse and state Sen. Avel Gordly, both Democrats, are behind Smith and not Democratic challenger Jeff Merkley.

The duo explains in the video that they will be voting for Smith because of his open mindedness, independence and his stance on ending the war in Iraq.

The 30 second clip wraps up with a message from Smith himself: “I’m Gordon Smith and I approve working together across party lines and this ad.”
