DSCC: Smith paid $1.25M for four golf clubs

A new ad by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is accusing U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) for paying $1.25 million for four golf clubs.

According to one citizen in the video: “I think they should take a page out of our books and try to live like us for a while, and then they would see what it feels like, you know, to live paycheck to paycheck.” Another Oregonian suggests paying that much for golf clubs “would be stupid.”

Smith, the Republican incumbent, is running against state House Speaker Jeff Merkley (D- Portland). The Smith campaign was not available for immediate response.
