MINNEAPOLIS -- Presidential candidate Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) campaign announced Thursday it will be opening up four more regional offices in Oregon, bringing the total number of offices to 13 in the state.
Brand new regional offices in Florence and McMinnville will be getting off the ground. Offices in Gresham and Pendleton have been in operation for several weeks, but will be celebrating their official grand opening.
According to the Obama campaign's Oregon spokeswoman Sahar Wali, these offices will serve as a central point for Obama supporters to conduct voter registration and field outreach. Such operations are commonly known as community organizing.
According to U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Portland), these outreach programs have increased the Democratic voter rolls in the Beaver State by close to 125,000 voters since the beginning of the year.
