HD-50: Lim’s latest ad touts independent thinking

State Rep. John Lim’s latest television ad touts his ability to work independently and bring both Democrats and Republicans together.

In the ad, Lim (R-Gresham) brings together leading members of the District 50 community, including Multnomah County Commissioner Lonnie Roberts, business leader Sue O’Halloran, and People For Parks Oregon chair Kathie Minden to talk about the Lim’s career where he worked for everyone in his district, not just one party.

“As a Democrat, I value john Lim’s ability to work across party lines,” Roberts says in the ad. “As a voter, I value his independent thinking.”

Lim was first elected to the state Senate in 1992, and moved to the Oregon House in 2004 after he was term limited for his senate seat. He won re-election to the house in 2006.

A dramatic increase in Democratic voter registration in Multnomah County, and especially in district 50, has many saying that this year, the road to re-election could be tough for Lim.

Lim’s campaign rival, Greg Matthews (D-Portland), is also on the air with a campaign ad touting his public safety record.
