Brown up in Secretary of State race

PORTLAND -- Secretary of State candidate Kate Brown has the early lead as Oregon ballots continue to be counted Tuesday night.

Brown has 51 percent of the vote with 46 percent of precincts reporting, according to the Oregonian.

When she addressed the Democratic crowd gathered at the Convention Center in Portland, Brown thanked her opponents Rick Dancer (R-Springfield) and Pacific Green Party Seth Greenly, and said she looks forward to the work ahead that needed to be done.

“We have an incredible opportunity to move Oregon forward and the entire country forward,” Brown said.
