Glynn: ‘No comment’ on prospective state department post

Mary Ellen Glynn refused to comment on rumors surrounding her potential appointment as assistant secretary of state for public affairs on Thursday. Glynn served as communications director for Gov. Ted Kulongoski.

The story, which was first reported on Politico.com, said that Glynn was on a shortlist being considered to succeed Sean McCormack in the position. If she takes the job, Glynn could speak on behalf of Secretary of State nominee Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

Glynn, who worked for Bill Clinton before being Kulongoski’s spokeswoman during his first term,  is currently working in Portland at Pyramid Communications, a public affairs firm.
