UPDATED: Weigler to direct Healthy Climate Partnership

Attorney General spokesman Jake Weigler is leaving Salem to become campaign manager for Healthy Climate Partnership, The Oregonian reported Friday.

Weigler, who managed U.S. Senate candidate Steve Novick’s Democratic primary campaign, will head the group that is looking to push Gov. Ted Kulongoski’s energy initiatives through the 2009 legislative session.

After Novick lost the Democratic primary in May, Weigler became Hardy Myers spokesman. Now Myers is on his way out of office as well, and will be replaced by Attorney General-elect John Kroger.

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the name of the organization was Campaign for Healthy Climate Partnerships. We regret the error.
