Oregon's Gubernatorial Campaign

Dear Readers, It is my hope that Oregon's gubernatorial candidates will be strong supporters of our environment. For example, our Superfund sites needs vast attention. We need to dramatically reform our forestry industry which sprays poisons in our communities and in our environment. We need green jobs very much. We need biofuel development that does not displace food crops. We need wind, wave, and solar power projects that can create jobs.
Our young people here in Waldport, Oregon are turning to crime because they can't find work. People in their thirties and forties can't find work. We must bring back a new version of the Works Progress Administration/Civil Conservation Corps to get our people back working. Without job creation, our country will fail.
I worked building houses for 21 years. I am semi-retired at age 54, and out of debt.
Our housing sector has collapsed here on the coast. Our people need affordable housing. We are 30 years behind where we need to be. We can better utilize forestry
"waste", creating new products to build homes. I worry for my state and country.
I want our gubernatorial candidates to run clean campaigns focused on the needs of our people. "Protect the Oregon you Love" could be a camapign slogan. We all need to make our state better. All hands on deck!
Lets stop bailing out the AIG basturds, and the bankers(who make TONS of money), and create jobs. We have 18.8% unemployment in several Oregon counties. This is depression era statistics and we MUST turn this around.

Let's make our state number one in wind power, in green job creation, in affordable housing, in innovation, creating new products. Let's make our state safe from crime, reduce welfare, and protect our elders and children better. Join me in this crucial task. Take care!
