Sizemore Banned From Running Charities

From Matt Davis at the Merc's Blogtown: Circuit Court Judge Janice Wilson has this afternoon issued an injunction against Bill Sizemore forbidding him from ever again managing or profiting from any charitable organization. Looks like ol Bill might be up for criminal charges too, should the Mult Co DA decide to actually make some real justice happen.

In which Bill Sizemore finds himself up another creek; sans paddle.

Matt Davis at Blogtown: As if being thrown in jail and facing potential court sanctions weren't enough, alleged initiative racketeer Bill Sizemore could now face hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines imposed by the Oregon Secretary of State's office. Secretary of State Kate Brown's office announced this morning that it has opened an investigation into Sizemore's behavior during the 2008 election. A civil penalty of $10,000 per crooked transaction may be leveled as a result, which means there's a potential for a huge fine to be leveled against Sizemore. Sizemore is also due back in front of Judge Janice...

Stick a fork in Sizemore, part deux

My recent gossipy piece on Bill Sizemore appears to have some grounding in fact, at least in part. I'd been advised by two sources (both anonymous) that Sizemore had relocated to Redmond. Several folks speculated that it might be Redmond, WA (mostly because I assumed Oregon, I didn't ask a follow up). Nope. Not Redmond, Washington. Redmond, Oregon: Bill Sizemore has moved to Redmond. That, he would confirm. He wouldn’t comment on his political plans. In the past, his activities have been bankrolled in large part by two men: Nevada businessman Loren Parks and Dick Wendt, the cofounder of wood...

Word on the street: Stick a fork in Sizemore, he's done.

I've recently learned through back channels (two sources, both anonymous) that perennial ballot measure racketeer Bill Sizemore has been given the kiss off by his two main benefactors: Loren Parks and Dick Wendt. Sizemore had been hired to do "consulting" (whatever that means) through what Jeff Mapes called a Wendt funded think tank known as Hire Calling. More on that entity from Becky at Preemptive Karma here. The scuttle (read: rumor) is that Wendt has fired Sizemore and that Bill is relocating to Redmond. And what of Loren Parks? Emails exchanged between Parks and Sizemore apparently indicate in no uncertain...

Sizemore shut out on ballot measures

Defend Oregon claimed victory on Measure 64 race Thursday, as opponents of the measure narrowly pulled ahead with 92 percent of votes counted.

The measure, which would make it illegal for public employees to add automatic payroll deductions for union and charity dues, is losing by 13,000 votes. If the results hold, it means conservative activist Bill Sizemore, who put five measures on the Oregon ballot, did not get a single measure passed this election cycle.

New anti-Measure 64 ad released

Opponents of Measure 64 released a television ad Monday warning voters that if the measure was passed, public servants would not have a fair chance to play a part in the political process.

The ad is sponsored by the Don't Silence our Voice Committee and claims the measure takes away the opportunity for public employees to take a payroll deduction to give to non-profits, charities, unions and other organizations. Several dozen groups, ranging from the Oregon School Employees Association to the Oregon State Police Officers Association, make up the committee.

Novick: ‘If I am going to spend the rest of my life fighting Bill Sizemore, I might as well do it from a position of power’

DENVER -- Former Democratic Senate candidate Steve Novick, who has been mentioned on Oregon political insiders’ short list as a possible gubernatorial candidate in 2010, did not rule out a run Thursday when he was asked about the possibility.

“It has occurred to me that if I am going to spend the rest of my life fighting Bill Sizemore, I might as well do it from a position of power,” Novick said as he left the Oregon Democratic delegation breakfast.
