Well you gotta give Representative Bruce Hanna some credit for trying to make an argument against the Democrats in what is obviously a hostile media market in Oregon.

Hunt predicts gubernatorial candidate for…2050

Most Oregon politicians are preoccupied with who will run in Oregon’s open gubernatorial seat in 2010, but Speaker of the House-elect Dave Hunt (D-Clackamas) offered a prediction for a much later Oregon Governor’s race when he addressed the Oregon Leadership summit on Thursday.

Hunt briefly mentioned his daughter Emily’s concerns about education, and made note of the fact that his daughter seemed rather politically adept despite being eight years old.

Kulongoski unveils budget; Republicans object over tax increases

SALEM -- Gov.  Ted Kulongoski unveiled a 2009 budget proposal on Monday that gives spending priority to education, health care and job creation. Republicans responded by saying the governor’s budget is based on tax increases that have not been passed yet.

House Republicans react to dismal budget picture

Republican leaders in the Oregon State House called for nixing the idea of tax increases on Wednesday after the economic forecast indicated that the legislature would have $850 million less to work with in the upcoming 2009 session than originally thought.

“Spending in 2007 was unsustainable, and now the Legislature is facing difficult decisions in 2009,” said House Republican Leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) on a GOP blog post on Oregon Catalyst.

Hanna back to lead House Republicans

On Friday, Oregon House Republicans chose their caucus leaders to take them through the 2009 legislative session.

House Minority leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) is back at the leadership helm after he was re-elected during the caucus meeting.

Hanna will be joined by two new representatives in the leadership; Rep. Kevin Cameron (R-Salem) will replace Rep. Andy Olson (R-Albany) as deputy minority leader and Rep. Ron Mauer (R-Grants Pass) was elected to replace Rep. Gene Whisnant (R-Sunriver) as minority whip.

HD-50: Matthews demands Lim take down latest ad

State House candidate Greg Matthews (D-Portland) is demanding that state Rep. John Lim (R-Gresham) pull a television ad that accuses Matthews of violating a city rule by using photos of him in his firefighter uniform in campaign literature.

Interim Gresham city attorney David Ris sent a letter to House Minority leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) on September 30 informing him that since the pictures that appear in the literature were taken before August 5, 2008, Matthews is not in violation of the law.

HD-26: House Republicans: ‘Adamson is engaging in muckraking attacks’

A spokesman for House Republican leader Bruce Hanna is accusing House District 26 candidate Jessica Adamson (D-Sherwood) of trying to distract voters from important issues by calling attention to Rep. Matt Wingard’s (D-Wilsonville) 2002 misdemeanor assault conviction for hitting his son over the head with a screwdriver.

The misdemeanor was brought to light in a mailing that was sent out to HD-26 voters on Monday.

State House Republican Leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) responded harshly to House Majority leader Dave Hunt’s (D-Clackamas) assertion that fundraising actions taken by state Rep. Karen Minnis (R-Wood Village) to give money out of her campaign contributions to candidates that have hired her on as a consultant were possibly unethical.
