OR-5: Schrader up by 13 in latest poll

A poll released Thursday shows Kurt Schrader (D-Canby) with a commanding lead over his campaign rival Mike Erickson (R-Lake Oswego) in the 5th Congressional District.

The poll, conducted by SurveyUSA, found that 51 percent of voters were supporting the Canby state senator, while only 38 percent of voters were backing Erickson.

OR-5: Pelosi to visit on behalf of Schrader

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will participate in a fundraiser and rally for congressional candidate Kurt Schrader on October 24, according to an email from the campaign.

The invitation says Pelosi will be accompanied by former Gov. Barbara Roberts, Clackamas County Commissioner Martha Schrader (D-Canby) and outgoing Rep. Darlene Hooley (D-West Linn), whom Kurt Schrader is looking to replace.

There will be a reception at Mama Mia’s Restaurant in Portland at 1:15, followed by rally at 1:45.
