DSCC ad revisits Smith Frozen Foods hiring practices

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released a new television ad Friday revisiting accusations against a frozen food company owned by U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) knowingly employed undocumented workers.

The ad cites a series of articles that appeared in Willamette Week last month that accused Smith Frozen Foods, located in Weston, of knowingly hiring undocumented workers. The ad also cites Smith’s vote to create harsher penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal workers.

DSCC releases new campaign ad urging Oregonians to elect 'change'

The Washington, D.C.-based Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released a new ad Monday urging Oregonians to bring change to the nation’s capital by electing Jeff Merkley (D-Portland).

The ad, called “Change,” is light on policy but attempts to reflect Oregonians' growing frustrations with the way things are handled on the federal level.

DSCC releases new ad accusing Smith of shortchanging soldiers

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released a new ad last week accusing U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith of voting against funding that would properly take care of America’s armed forces once they return home from Iraq.

“Gordon Smith has let them down,” the ad says. “He voted 27 times to cut health care benefits for the troops once they return home.”

DSCC: Smith paid $1.25M for four golf clubs

A new ad by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is accusing U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) for paying $1.25 million for four golf clubs.

According to one citizen in the video: “I think they should take a page out of our books and try to live like us for a while, and then they would see what it feels like, you know, to live paycheck to paycheck.” Another Oregonian suggests paying that much for golf clubs “would be stupid.”

DSCC Web ad mocks Smith’s ‘change of heart’

A new Web ad released by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee implies that U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) changed his stance on the Iraq war only “After Republicans lost six Senate seats.”

The video then goes on to show an image of Smith chuckling while standing beside President Bush. Text appears over the image reading “From 2002 to 2007, Gordon Smith voted more than 20 times to authorize and fund the Iraq War.”
