Democratic Party of Oregon elects new committee members

The Democratic Party of Oregon elected two new committee members on Sunday to serve as Oregon’s representatives to the Democratic National Committee.

Oregon Dems voted in Lupita Mauer, the former chair of the Washington County Democrats, as one of the newest members of Oregon’s national committee. Mauer lives in Aloha.

Mike Radway, the treasurer for the DPO, also won election to represent the state at the national level. Radway lives in Portland.

Smith comments on ‘clumsy and regrettable’ statement on gay marriage

Frank Dixon, the Democratic Party of Oregon’s first vice-chair, is calling on U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Pendleton) to clarify remarks he made last week during a panel discussion on gay rights at the Center for American Progress.

Dixon jumps on board

Sneaking in his endorsement right before Sen. Barack Obama won the required number of delegates in today’s primaries, superdelegate Frank Dixon, Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon jumped on the Obama wagon.
