In tightly fought race, Hackett releases two ads

Seeking to build momentum in what appears to be an increasingly competitive race against U.S. Rep. Chris Carney (D-Dimock), Republican Chris Hackett today released two advertisements his campaign hopes can highlight him as a candidate with "conservative values we can trust."

The ads come as Carney and Hackett have been battling over abortion issues, and as liberals disenchanted with Carney begin to turn on the incumbent.

One of the ads, titled "New Direction," features Hackett walking toward the camera, a truck and a tractor in the background.

"What's happening in Washington today is downright tragic," he says.

The other ad, titled "Plan," highlights Hackett's background as a businessman who grew up in a working-class family.
