Longtime GOP political consultant Elliott Curson had one thing to say about U.S. Sen. John McCain's pick of a woman to be his running mate Friday:
"It's about time," Curson told PolitickerPa.com. "I don’t know if it’s going to pull Hillary Clinton’s voters in, but I think it’s just good to have the diversity on the ticket."
Whether or not the pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will translate into votes in Pennsylvania is far from clear. An unknown even to political insiders ("I’ve never heard of her," Curson acknowledged), her appeal will take time to gauge.
"It’s certainly better than Dan Quayle or Dick Cheney," Curson said.
