U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) will be in Philadelphia Wednesday night for a fundraiser, as she looks to retire as much of her campaign debt as possible before being confirmed as the incoming Obama administration's Secretary of State.

The event is being held at the home of local political dynamo and Democratic fundraiser David Cohen, who is also an executive vice president at Comcast. Vice President-Elect Joe Biden, Gov. Ed Rendell, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter are all expected to attend.

Clinton has already given up on getting back the more than $13 million that she and former President Bill Clinton lent her failed presidential campaign. But she still has more than $6 million in outstanding debt, almost all of which is owed to the firm formerly owned by her longtime chief strategist and pollster Mark Penn.

With many Clinton supporters already having donated the maximum of $2,300, most of the money she can hope to pull in will have to come from those who supported President-elect Barack Obama during their long and contentious primary campaign.

Once Clinton is confirmed, she can no longer accept campaign contributions.
