Pindell Report makes final predictions for Election Day

The Pindell Report, Politicker.com's political and campaign forecast, has released its final projections for Election Day. Using polling, historical and demographic trends, tracking campaign visits and spending, The Pindell Report ranks races in terms of their competitiveness and their status as either a toss-up or leaning or likely voting in a particular way.

Murtha on 'Hardball': I’ve seen a sea change in the people in Western Pa.

U.S. Rep. Jack Murtha (D-Johnstown) appeared on MSNBC's "Hardball" Friday. He told host Chris Matthews that the people of western Pennsylvania are focused on the looming economic crisis but now also want U.S. troops out of Iraq.

Murtha voiced his support for Barack Obama even if some people think he is not experienced enough, saying "Obama's going to do much better than people anticipate."

Pindell Report: Pennsylvania ready to send two incumbents packing

Murphy to take the stage at DNC with fellow vets

U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Bristol) is scheduled to address the Democratic National Convention between 7 and 8 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday night. The theme of the day is "Securing America's Future."

Murphy -- currently the only Iraq war veteran serving in Congress -- will be joined on stage by fellow Iraq war veterans.

Today's convention schedule

The third day of the Democratic National Convention will be called to order at 5:00 PM EST on Wednesday, with a theme of "Securing America's Future."

The day will begin with the nominating process for President, including nominating speeches for U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.), followed by a roll call vote.

The headline speaker will be vice presidential nominee, U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.).
