No questions on Hackett’s life stance for RTL PAC

After tight primary race, Hackett looks forward to general campaign

Meuser on loss to Hackett: ‘We are disappointed’

After months of working to secure the Republican nomination in the 10th Congressional District seat, Chris Hackett won last night’s primary by a narrow margin. Hackett won 33,604 votes, or 52.3 percent of the vote to Dan Meuser’s 30,636 votes, or 47.7 percent.

“We are disappointed,” said Meuser, “Our many supporters throughout the district expected us to win and effectively represent them in the general election and in Congress.”

Meuser fuels 'pro-choice' rumors about Hackett

The 10th Congressional district campaign of Republican Dan Meuser is circulating a Capitolwire article today reporting that fellow GOP candidate Chris Hackett told party power brokers last May that he supported abortion rights.

According to the article, the meeting with Northeastern Pennsylvania GOP leaders was arranged to discuss Hackett's potential bid to challenge incumbent Rep. Chris Carney (D-Susquehanna).

Meuser opens new campaign office in Sunbury

In an effort to bolster its Central Susquehanna Valley presence in the final days before Tuesday’s primary, Dan Meuser’s 10th District Congressional campaign will open a campaign office in Sunbury this afternoon. Meuser will appear at the office’s opening, which is intended to show the candidate’s “strong commitment to Central PA," according to a media advisory from the campaign.

Meuser, a successful businessman, faces fellow GOP hopeful Chris Hackett in the April 22 primary.

Tenth Congressional District Republican candidates Dan Meuser and Chris Hackett faced off in their third and final debate last night.

The two candidates exchanged blows over negative advertising, campaign spending, social security, earmarks, and pork barrel spending, according to the Times Leader.

In CD 10, the dollars pour in

With the primary in Congressional District 10 heading down to the wire, Republican rivals Dan Meuser and Chris Hackett are continuing to pour their own money into the race, campaign finance records show.

On April 11, Meuser, a manufacturing executive, loaned his campaign $90,000. He then submitted loans of $225,000 and $90,000 on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

Hackett, a staffing company president, loaned his campaign $150,000 on April 8.
