Wofford, Casey lending Roggio a hand in fundraising

As Bob Roggio tries to raise the money needed to make his race against U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-West Pikeland) competitive, he's getting help from some prominent state Democrats.

Former U.S. Sen. Harris Wofford will headline a fundraiser for Roggio in Center City this evening, the Roggio campaign said. That follows a fundraiser with U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) last week.

Roggio is trying to unseat Gerlach in the 6th Congressional District.

Former Sen. Wofford campaigns for Obama

Former Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Harris Wofford (D) is campaigning for Barack Obama in the Keystone State on Thursday and Friday.

After a morning stop in Gettysburg, Wofford will hold a noon-time event in Harrisburg with the National Active Retired Federal Employees group.

He travels Friday to the Philadelphia suburbs to speak at the West Chester Senior Center Retiree event. 

Wofford served as a senator from 1991 to 1995.

Wofford continues to work Obama circuit

Harris Wofford spent time on Sunday greeting campaign staffers at the headquarters for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. While Obama's Democratic rival, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, has secured the endorsement of Gov. Ed Rendell, Obama's campaign efforts have been aided by the support of Wofford and current U.S. Sen. Bob Casey Jr.

Pennsylvania voters go to the polls on Tuesday.
