Trujillo floated endorsement a month ago, Corbett says

HARRISBURG -- Attorney General Tom Corbett said Thursday that "it's a great honor" to receive the endorsement of his 2004 opponent's campaign manager, Ken Trujillo.

Trujillo, who ran Democrat Jim Eisenhower's campaign in 2004 and is now Philadelphia City Solicitor, wrote in The Inquirer that not re-electing Corbett "would be a huge mistake for Pennsylvania."

Slander suit against Morganelli possible, Smith says

HARRISBURG -- State House Minority Leader Sam Smith (R-Punxsutawney) raised the possibility Wednesday of filing a slander lawsuit against Democratic attorney general candidate John Morganelli.

Smith said Morganelli has repeatedly accused his caucus of wrongdoing in connection with "Bonusgate," which the minority leader flatly denies.

Corbett reports $1.78 on hand after million-dollar fundraising period

Republican Attorney General Tom Corbett reported Tuesday he has about $1.78 million on hand after raising roughly $1 million between May 13 and Sept. 15.

The incumbent has about $780,000 more than his Democratic challenger, John Morganelli, who reported he has about $1 million on hand.

Morganelli reports $1 million on hand

Democratic attorney general candidate John Morganelli has about $1 million on hand after raising $407,706 from May 12 to Sept. 15, according to a report he filed Tuesday with the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Morganelli stopped by the Capitol to drop off the cover sheet of his financial report, which was due Tuesday. A DOS spokeswoman, however, told PolitickerPA.com the reports won't be processed and put on the department's website until late this week or early next.
