Report: Evans, Abraham and Torsella also interested in Senate run

Add a few more names to the list of candidates considering a run against U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter in 2010.

State Democratic party executive director Mary Isenhour tells The Morning Call that Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham, National Constitution Center CEO Joe Torsella and state Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia) are all interested in the race.

Brother would be 'stunned beyond words' if Chris Matthews ran for Senate

Stop speculating: Chris Matthews isn't running for U.S. Senate. At least that's what his brother told PolitickerPA.com.

Jim Matthews was left with that strong impression after speaking with the MSNBC host when he returned from a two-week vacation in Jamaica.

"There's no hint of him running for office," Jim Matthews told PolitickerPA.com in an interview Monday. "That's 1,000 percent true."

Shapiro says he wasn’t looking for Harrisburg leadership spot

NEW YORK-Some political watchers were surprised when state Rep. Josh Shapiro's name never came up during the recent post-election leadership fight in Harrisburg. After all, the Abington Democrat is widely considered a rising star in state politics. And his role in helping install Republican Dennis O'Brien as House Speaker for the narrow Democratic majority two years ago earned him accolades-not to mention the largely ceremonial Deputy Speaker job.
