More Bleating From Santorum About Running For Prez

Lil Ricky is at it again.

From LifeSiteNews.com:
Speaking to a room full of prominent US Catholic leaders Friday night, Senator Rick Santorum was challenged to run for the Republican Presidential nominaion. Responding to a room already thick with applause, Santorum revealed that he was indeed "thinking about it" but asked for prayers and detailed his thinking on the matter.

[snip]

"...as a father, I've got to think about whether they are going to have a country to live in … Are they going to be able to practice their faith in a way that's consistent with what the Church teaches."

[snip]

In closing he said that while he was "thinking about it", it is the first time his ambition which is, as he said, "in his DNA" was checked by a resistance saying, "no, I'm not sure.

PA Sen. Jane Orie aide Alan David Berlin jailed for soliciting furry sex with teen boy

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

An aide to a McCandless state senator known for her tough stance on sex crimes was arrested late Thursday on accusations he propositioned a 15-year-old over the Internet.

In a series of instant messages and online chats, Alan David Berlin, 40, of Carlisle, discussed dressing up in animal costumes and engaging in various sex acts with the boy, the state attorney general's office said yesterday.

[snip]

Investigators believe Mr. Berlin and the boy met on an Internet site for "furries," an online community of people who adopt half-animal, half-human personas.

In one message, according to the complaint, Mr. Berlin requested pictures of the boy and wrote, "When will your folks be out?"

Other messages describe various sex acts in explicit detail and refer to "yiffing," which is a "furry" term for having sex.

Tom Ridge And The Fairness Doctrine

The GOP circular firing squad is aiming at Tom Ridge. As usual the GOP gets its history wrong and their media mouthpieces (in this case the Tribune-Review) omits some important data.

From Washington Monthly:
Arlen Specter left the Republican Party when Pennsylvania Republicans rejected his relative moderation. Pessimistic about Pat Toomey's chances, GOP leaders have been scrambling, looking for a credible Republican alternative.

It appears the party has rallied behind former Gov. Tom Ridge (R) as their new go-to guy. Ridge, a two-term chief executive and the first DHS Secretary, is probably the only Republican with a realistic shot at winning the statewide race.

Lil Ricky, Again. (Part I)

You might want to sit back, put your feet up, grab some coffee or a nice cup of tea, and settle in for a bit as this is going to take some time.

Why? Because Rick Santorum's got another column at the Philadelphia Inquirer and it's a doozy - perhaps the dooziest of doozies.

The first paragraph sets the tone:
Watching President Obama apologize last week for America's arrogance - before a French audience that owes its freedom to the sacrifices of Americans - helped convince me that he has a deep-seated antipathy toward American values and traditions. His nomination of former Yale Law School Dean Harold Koh to be the State Department's top lawyer constitutes further evidence of his disdain for American values.

Mr. Santorum goes to Hollywood

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Before launching into an impassioned speech in favor of U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), former Republican Pennsylvania U.S. senator Rick Santorum told the Pennsylvania delegation about his forays into Hollywood.

Yes, Mr. Social Conservative has ventured into the land of Robert Redford and Oliver Stone, but don't expect to see him in a starring role anytime soon. Rather, Santorum has gone behind the scenes to take his fight for conservative principles from Washington to southern California.
