Cornyn announces NRSC staff hires

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn has announced two new staff hires.

Cornyn announced today that Dorinda Moss will serve as Finance Director at the committee. Moss is a former finance staffer for American Solutions for Winning the Future. Moss also worked on Fred Thompson’s 2004 presidential campaign.

Olson focuses on debt retirement

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman-elect Pete Olson is wasting no time in getting rid of his campaign debt.

The Republican, who ousted U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson (D-Beaumont) last week, is holding a Nov. 19 debt retirement fundraising lunch on Capitol Hill, according to an event invitation obtained by PolitickerTX.com.

In his Oct. 15 filing with the Federal Election Commission, Olson's campaign reported being over $176,000 in debt. Since that time, the campaign's debt has remained the same, Olson spokeswoman Amy Goldstein said.
