Sessions picks top two NRCC staffers

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) announced Tuesday that his chief of staff, Guy Harrison, will serve as the executive director of the NRCC and will run the day-to-day operations. Harrison has worked with Sessions for 14 years.

Burgess loses bid for policy chairman

U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Lewisville) lost his challenge to become chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee. He has been serving as the committee's vice-chairman.  

House Republicans re-elected Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) to the post instead.   McCotter was supported by Minority Leader John Boehner, an Ohio Republican. McCotter will remain the fourth highest-ranking Republican in the House leadership.

Sessions elected NRCC chairman

House Republicans elected U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) head of the National Republican Congressional Committee Wednesday.  U.S. Rep. Tom Cole (R-Ok.), who chaired the organization through a round of Congressional losses this fall, dropped out of the race at the last minute.  Sessions had the backing of House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).

Boehner endorses Sessions in run for NRCC chairmanship

WASHINGTON - House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) has endorsed U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) in his quest for the chairmanship of the National Republican Congressional Committee, a move that potentially sinks the hopes of U.S. Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), the sitting NRCC Chairman who wants to stay for a second term at the committee.

Boehner backs out of Olson appearance

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will not attend a Saturday event with 22nd Congressional District candidate Pete Olson. Boehner was originally scheduled to appear with Olson at the grand opening of the Galveston County Republican headquarters' office in League City on Saturday morning.

According to the Olson campaign, Boehner will not attend the grand opening "due to the financial relief package" the House is now considering.
