Cheney shoots Hutchinson in the face

Cheney has publicly endorse Hutchinson for Governor. This is about as disastoraous as Lee Brown endorsing Gene Locke, Tony Sanchez endorsing Peter Brown, or my favorite Sarah Palin endorsing Rick Perry. (Although Perry actually wanted Palin, in a political way) Hutchinson responded:
“I am so *&^%$# pleased,” Hutchison said Wednesday. “I fear the former vice president so much. I just hope he doesn't shoot me in my *&^damn frickin face!”
OK. So I took a tiny bit of liberty with her response. What could be worse for Hutchinson than an endorsement from Darth Vader who won't keep his damn mouth shut like every other former vice president does? Instead Cheney has become a camera whore looking for every opportunity to tell Obama how he is screwing up his war in Afhganistan and Iraq.

The gop is nuts.

Levi Johnston was just one step away from living in a trailer house in the back yard of the White House. Levi and Palin's 17 year old pregnant daughter was showcased on the stage of the Republican National Convention as a reminder of their long tradition of family values. It was a moment of stardom for Levi, an 18 year old who didn't graduate high school and didn't use protection while bonking the Governors daughter. Until now.

In a stupid commercial for pistachio nuts the voice over says "Now Levi Johnston is doing it with protection". Real class.

One step away from the Trailer House.

Is Perry Porkin' Palin?

What is going on with Governor Perry and his infatuation with Sarah "The Quitter" Palin?
"I love Sarah Palin, I love her positions, I think she was a good governor. . . . I want her to be engaged in this rebuilding of the Republican Party. . . . She is substantially more the face of this country than some other people who might want to be the face of the Republican Party. To me she's the face of America. I mean she's a hard worker, she didn't come from money, she didn't come from privilege, she just worked hard. . . .

Palin and Perry sitting in a tree....

Q-U-I-T-T-I-N-G. Perry, the longest serving Governor of Texas will be roaming the state with the shortest serving Governor of Alaska.CONROE, Texas (AP) - Gov. Rick Perry says Sarah Palin is committed to campaigning for his re-election bid and that he welcomes the support of the soon-to-be-former Alaska governor. Why does the idea of Perry and Palin campaigning around Texas together bring thoughts of another family values scandal in the making?

Oh. Now I need a shower. With Comet. And a bristle brush.

Why is Palin resigning as Alaska Governor?

Ok. lets see. What could possibly make Sarah Palin the darling of the republican party to resign as the governor? Here is some ideas:

  1. A sex scandal is brewing and she doesn't want to tarnish the "family values" nametag of the republican party. (Sorry Sarah, but you are too late)
  2. Levy knocked up another one of her kids. (little bastard. Last time he will be invited to stand on the stage of the republican national convention!)
  3. She wants to donate time to planned parenthood. (might learn something)
  4. She wants to spend more time with her family. (uh-huh)
  5. She thinks she has a chance at winning the republican party beauty pageant or the nomination for President.

Poll: Obama could defeat Palin in Texas in 2012

O.K. so there's a lot of things wrong with polling a presidential race four years in advance when the president is in his honeymoon period and the potential opponent has fallen off the nightly news.

But it's fun anyway.

Public Policy Polling has a new survey that shows President Obama would mop up in a re-election bid challenged by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP's vice presidential nominee from last year.

"Several national polls of Republican voters since the election last fall have shown Sarah Palin as the top choice of the party faithful to be the GOP's nominee for President in 2012. But a new national PPP poll finds that nominating Palin could be a death wish for the party, with Barack Obama leading Palin 55-35 in a hypothetical contest.

Richards: Bristol Palin the face of Planned Parenthood?

Sarah Palin probably won't go for it. But Cecil Richards -- the national president of Planned Parenthood -- says Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol would be a great advocate for her group. "I really admire this young woman. I think she should be a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood."

Bristol Palin, the unwed teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, became part of the storyline last year when her mother was running for vice president. The Republican governor, a favorite of the religious right, supports abstinance-only education and opposes providing birth control information in schools. Social conservatives rallied around Brisol, saying her decision to keep the baby underscored opposition to abortion.

Perry, Palin, the Post and the (Washington) Times

The Washington Post cited the possible 2010 Texas matchup between Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in an article about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (who has endorsed Perry).

The Post's Michael Leahy cast the Perry-Hutchison race (assuming both run when all's said and done) in dramatic terms, saying that Palin "has taken sides in a war for the soul of the newly beleaguered Republican Party in Texas, where that state's senior GOP senator, Kay Bailey Hutchison, plans to challenge Republican Gov. Rick Perry in a primary fight that may serve as an early indicator of social conservatives' strength in the GOP nationally."

No doubt Perry enjoys that description.

He's been touting on Twitter his op-ed in the Washington Times that's headlined, "PERRY: Belief in individual at conservatism's core."

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Supports Rick Perry for Texas

Now this is interesting:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Rick Perry for re-election, calling him the "true conservative" in a primary election showdown with fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Palin, who electrified the GOP base as the party's vice presidential nominee last year, has strong support among the party's social conservatives. Her endorsement appeared aimed at undercutting Hutchison's appeal with GOP women. Both groups will be important in picking the party's nominee in next year's Republican primary.

KBH who? Hutchison isn't getting out of the primary. She's just not.

On a side note, I wanted to comment on how I came to read this story.
