How Gene Locke can win

Lots of folks have painted a pretty gloomy picture for Gene Locke's campaign based upon the election results from November 3rd. It is hard, with the voting numbers across the city so much against him, to come up with a way for him to win.

Who is his base? Where should he concentrate his GOTV? Where should he spend money? How will Locke raise any money without a plan and one that will work this time? Who, besides his Metro buddies, will give him any more money with such a poor showing last Tuesday?

I don't have the answers, but I can make some suggestions to the Locke campaign:

BREAKING: Michael Berry's head to explode

UPDATE: Peter Brown will be endorsing Annise Parker for Mayor at 1:30 today.

Peter Brown has called a press conference to endorse someone in the race for Houston Mayor. The big question concerning this endorsement is: "When will Michael Berry's head explode?".

Berry, a white wing, 38 year old, young professional, who can shoot his mouth off about the wars, but won't shoot a gun to fight them, talk radio host has been going ballastic with his anti-Parker rants. He hasn't been too kind to Locke either, threatening to boycott the election. (boo-hoo) But come 1:30 cameras will be on Michael Berry's head.

Where did Peter go wrong?

After spending over $3 Million, Peter Brown came in 3rd place to Gene Locke and Annise Parker in the race for Houston Mayor. I am sure many, including Rick Casey of the Houston Chronicle, will analyze what happened and why it happened. So here is my two sense.

Peter actually ran a pretty good TV and mail campaign focusing on a clear message: He has a blueprint for Houston. And with $3 Million at his disposal, he was able to repeat this message over and over and over.....and over, which is the perfect blueprint for getting peoples attention. Unfortunately it did not turn into enough votes.

The shockers of the Houston elections

Roy Morales gets over 20% of the vote. That is a shocker. The man is clueless. Absolutely clueless and yet 20% of the voters want him as Mayor. Clue-frickin-less.

Peter Brown is in third place. After spending $3.2 Million of his wife's money, he is going to have a very long long Christmas season coming in 3rd place. How can you lose after spending $3.2 Million? Or come in 3rd. Kudus to the voters of Houston.

Gene Locke. Coming in 2nd place. That is a shocker to Peter Brown. So far he looks to be in a run off with Annise Parker. Everyone expected him to peak at 3rd. Maybe he will just peak at 2nd.

C.O. Bradford. I just don't get it. With all of his baggage with the crime lab, the voters of Houston put him back in office. Shocking. Just frickin shocking.

Would ya please pass the jelly?

Time to pass the jelly because someone in the Houston Mayoral race is toast and that first person is Roy Morales. With the polls ending in about 2 hours, it is pretty safe to say Roy will end the night in a solid 4th or 3rd place depending on the last minute turnout. Maybe that airplane banner flying over Houston this afternoon that said "Vote for Roy Morales" will drive out voters.

Regardless, this is the end of yet another run for a City office for Roy adding to his loss to Peter Brown, and twice to Melissa Noriega. The perpetual candidate should be buttered and jellied because he is now toast.

More toast predictions coming around 7:10PM. Oh...and speaking of passin da jelly:

Cheney shoots Hutchinson in the face

Cheney has publicly endorse Hutchinson for Governor. This is about as disastoraous as Lee Brown endorsing Gene Locke, Tony Sanchez endorsing Peter Brown, or my favorite Sarah Palin endorsing Rick Perry. (Although Perry actually wanted Palin, in a political way) Hutchinson responded:
“I am so *&^%$# pleased,” Hutchison said Wednesday. “I fear the former vice president so much. I just hope he doesn't shoot me in my *&^damn frickin face!”
OK. So I took a tiny bit of liberty with her response. What could be worse for Hutchinson than an endorsement from Darth Vader who won't keep his damn mouth shut like every other former vice president does? Instead Cheney has become a camera whore looking for every opportunity to tell Obama how he is screwing up his war in Afhganistan and Iraq.

Brown running out of money

Could it be? Has Peter Brown's personal kitty gone dry? According to a press release titled "Lots of money pays off" by Brown's staff, Brown is asking for money to continue his personal and baseless attacks against his opponents:
On Tuesday, Peter told you about a new poll showing us in the lead. Lots of free money pays off! For weeks, we've been launching angry vicious personal attacks. Now they’re taking our misleading negative attacks to the next level by debunking them. Please contribute so we can continue our attacks and because I have been cut off from my wife's unlimited bank account.

Peter Brown fails to launch at lunch

I didn't think this was a good idea in the first place.

Peter Brown was featured at a meeting of the Space Advocates today. The "Space Advocates" started out a few years ago as "Space Advocates for Lampson". As a candidate and Congressman, Lampson would always speak to a packed house of those interested in the Space Program. As a member of the Science Committee, Lampson, had exclusive insight into the workings of Congress and kept those in attendance aware of the situation. It was always a great bipartisan event. Once elected, Space Advocates for Lampson was renamed to just Space Advocates.

After the NASA area elected a rookie to Congress, Space Advocates went on a long hiatus until today.

Oops he did it again

Oops! I Did it again to your heart. Got lost In this game; oh, baby.
Oops! You Think that I'm sent from above... I'm not that innocent.
--Britney Spears. Oops I did it again.

Candidate for Mayor Peter Brown did it again. As I said yesterday, With unlimited wealth you can expect Brown to continue his air attack and mailers attacking his opponents. And sure enough he did it again. According to Muse:
Brown sent out a mail piece that attacked both Annise Parker and Gene Locke. I heard it was sent to women Republican voters. You can see it right here. The Chron has Mayor White's response.

Brown not buying votes

It is ridiculous to think that Peter Brown is buying votes from the Black community. Not only is it hard to come up with a price for a vote, it is extremely illegal. EXTREMELY, I tell you! It just isn't happening. But something else is.

According to Rick Casey of the Houston Chronicle, Peter Brown has spent $3.2 million of his wife's money to become Mayor of Houston. With $3.2 Million Brown can flood the airwaves with TV commercials and mailers that contain false or extremely misleading information and his opponents would not have the time or money to counter the flood. There ought to be a law.
