Cheney shoots Hutchinson in the face

Cheney has publicly endorse Hutchinson for Governor. This is about as disastoraous as Lee Brown endorsing Gene Locke, Tony Sanchez endorsing Peter Brown, or my favorite Sarah Palin endorsing Rick Perry. (Although Perry actually wanted Palin, in a political way) Hutchinson responded:
“I am so *&^%$# pleased,” Hutchison said Wednesday. “I fear the former vice president so much. I just hope he doesn't shoot me in my *&^damn frickin face!”
OK. So I took a tiny bit of liberty with her response. What could be worse for Hutchinson than an endorsement from Darth Vader who won't keep his damn mouth shut like every other former vice president does? Instead Cheney has become a camera whore looking for every opportunity to tell Obama how he is screwing up his war in Afhganistan and Iraq.

Is Perry Porkin' Palin?

What is going on with Governor Perry and his infatuation with Sarah "The Quitter" Palin?
"I love Sarah Palin, I love her positions, I think she was a good governor. . . . I want her to be engaged in this rebuilding of the Republican Party. . . . She is substantially more the face of this country than some other people who might want to be the face of the Republican Party. To me she's the face of America. I mean she's a hard worker, she didn't come from money, she didn't come from privilege, she just worked hard. . . .

Bettencourt, Vasquez, Johnson, Bohac, Oh My!

Harris County Tax Accessor and Collector, Leo Vasquez, has reassigned Ed Johnson, the associate voter registrar, away from Harris County voter data.
The Lone Star Project has learned that Republican Tax Assessor-Collector Leo Vasquez has reassigned Associate Voter Registrar Ed Johnson from voter registration duties to a communications role. Johnson was exposed by the Lone Star Project as "the inside man" to Republican elected officials, particularly State Rep. Dwayne Bohac (HD138-Houston).
Johnson was found to be moonlighting and selling the voter registrar data to political clients. Lone Star Project has also found that he accessed drivers license data and if he sold or profited from this activity, he is in violation of Federal laws.

Harris County Tax Assessor under fire again.

Now this is interesting. According to Lone Star Project, Ed Johnson, the deputy voter registrar of Leo Vasquez office, (Leo took over the office of Tax Assessor and Collector when Paul Bettencourt quit, much like Sarah Palin) is under fire again.
Last month, the Lone Star Project revealed that Harris County Associate Voter Registrar, Ed Johnson, is a paid employee of a GOP political consulting firm, Campaign Data Systems (CDS), owned by Republican State Representative Dwayne Bohac. On the firm’s website Bohac boasted that the CDS voter data file is enhanced by information culled from “driver license” records.

Palin and Perry sitting in a tree....

Q-U-I-T-T-I-N-G. Perry, the longest serving Governor of Texas will be roaming the state with the shortest serving Governor of Alaska.CONROE, Texas (AP) - Gov. Rick Perry says Sarah Palin is committed to campaigning for his re-election bid and that he welcomes the support of the soon-to-be-former Alaska governor. Why does the idea of Perry and Palin campaigning around Texas together bring thoughts of another family values scandal in the making?

Oh. Now I need a shower. With Comet. And a bristle brush.

Why is Palin resigning as Alaska Governor?

Ok. lets see. What could possibly make Sarah Palin the darling of the republican party to resign as the governor? Here is some ideas:

  1. A sex scandal is brewing and she doesn't want to tarnish the "family values" nametag of the republican party. (Sorry Sarah, but you are too late)
  2. Levy knocked up another one of her kids. (little bastard. Last time he will be invited to stand on the stage of the republican national convention!)
  3. She wants to donate time to planned parenthood. (might learn something)
  4. She wants to spend more time with her family. (uh-huh)
  5. She thinks she has a chance at winning the republican party beauty pageant or the nomination for President.

Harris county Gropers punts on ethics reform

You have to wonder if the Grand Old Partiers (GROPERS) in Harris county are just plain stupid when it comes to ethics reforms. Harris County Commissioners are looking at some simple ethics reforms such as voluntary registration by lobbyists (like voluntary jail time for sex offenders) or posting all financial disclosure forms online, or mandatory ethics training.

Mandatory ethics training might have made Commissioner Jerry Eversole think twice before traveling around the country buying antique books, authentic cowboy chaps or a $25,000 antique pistol with his donors money, or spending a day golfing and working out on county time, but look what Eversole thinks about

Leo Vasquez' man on the inside

The Lone Star Project continues to dig into the Assistant Voter Registrar, Ed Johnson, moonlighting as a gop consultant helping republicans win using the data that he manages. And the Harris County republican party is about as silent as Sarah Palin at a planned parenthood rally.
Further examination of documents obtained by the Lone Star Project show that Republican State Representative Dwayne Bohac (HD138 – Houston) sits at the center of the Harris County elections office scandal. The Harris County associate voter registrar was literally Bohac’s “man on the inside” in a position to assist Bohac in his own campaigns and the campaigns of his political clients.

Poll: Obama could defeat Palin in Texas in 2012

O.K. so there's a lot of things wrong with polling a presidential race four years in advance when the president is in his honeymoon period and the potential opponent has fallen off the nightly news.

But it's fun anyway.

Public Policy Polling has a new survey that shows President Obama would mop up in a re-election bid challenged by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP's vice presidential nominee from last year.

"Several national polls of Republican voters since the election last fall have shown Sarah Palin as the top choice of the party faithful to be the GOP's nominee for President in 2012. But a new national PPP poll finds that nominating Palin could be a death wish for the party, with Barack Obama leading Palin 55-35 in a hypothetical contest.

Richards: Bristol Palin the face of Planned Parenthood?

Sarah Palin probably won't go for it. But Cecil Richards -- the national president of Planned Parenthood -- says Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol would be a great advocate for her group. "I really admire this young woman. I think she should be a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood."

Bristol Palin, the unwed teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, became part of the storyline last year when her mother was running for vice president. The Republican governor, a favorite of the religious right, supports abstinance-only education and opposes providing birth control information in schools. Social conservatives rallied around Brisol, saying her decision to keep the baby underscored opposition to abortion.
