Teabaggers in ten minutes

This is about 10 minutes long, but it is amusing and an easy watch. This video was taken at the Glen Beck rally on 9/12 in Washington where over 87 Bazzillion teabaggers attended. Geez. Why isn't this in color?

John Cornyn's letter on rape and arbitration

The Honorable John Cornyn

Dear Constituents,

This week I voted against an amendment to a defense bill that would prohibit mandatory binding arbitration clauses involving rape for any contractor receiving federal tax dollars. I would like to explain my vote.

The amendment was a result of a case involving a KBR employee, Jamie Jones. Jones was gang-raped by coworkers while working in Iraq but because of KBR's arbitration clause, she could not bring a suit against KBR to a jury trial. What many do not understand is that arbitration is a good policy for rape victims.

GOP Chairman addresses Congressman Pete Olson

Michael Steele
Chairman, Republican Party

The Honorable Pete Olson

Washington, D.C. 20515

Honorable Pete Olson,

Over the last few days I watched as the liberal media distorted your message of supporting the private sector of insurance companies. Unfortunately the video of you, posted all over the internet, does little to support the insurance companies and actually supports President Obama's plan for a public option. Which brings me to a very important question:

What in the living fuck were you doing? Instead of trying to find a sick kid to hide behind, how about just sticking to repeating the republican lies, myths, and fear mongering and leave the intelligent conversations to people like me.

Congressman Pete Olson: Setting the record straight

Recent attempts to distort my message at a Town Hall meeting have prompted me to send a brief note clarifying misinformation that has been circulating on the Internets and in the media.

Today, the liberal blogosphere-orama chose to run a 2 minute clip of a recent two hour town hall that I held in my district to discuss issues in Washington. This 2 minute clip has been a severe irritation to me like the time I starched my underwear, but that will not stop me from continuing to push for the public option by shamelessly dragging a sick child across my district.

Sure the private sector denied health care to his poor mother which is sort of like a death panel, but that is not the point I was trying to make by exploiting this young child.

We can't afford health care reform.

And we wonder why? From Sick for Profit:

UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley owns $744,232,068 in unexercised stock options. CIGNA’s Edward Hanway spends his holidays in a $13 million beach house in New Jersey. Meanwhile, regular Americans are routinely denied coverage for the care they need when they need it most.

Welcome to the American health insurance industry. Instead of helping policyholders attain the health security they need for their families, big insurance companies get rich by denying coverage to patients. Now they’re sending lobbyists to Washington, DC to twist the arms of lawmakers to oppose reform of the status quo. Why? Because the status quo pays.

Talk about a sick nation.

The Community Organizer in Chief

We have a President in the White House who is a former community organizer from Chicago. He was more than willing to be a spoke in the Daly machine. He went from community organizer to the Illinois State Legislature then to the U.S. Senate without breaking a sweat. He has done nothing but campaign for the the next office for most of his political life - why get stuck and actually accomplish something for the folks who put you into your position of power? He delivered a fine speech at the 2004 Democrat National Convention - the guy can deliver a fine speech with his mastery of the teleprompter - and he was ready to run for President.

Texas Congressional after birth.

No place but Texas. Just one week after paying Congressman John Culberson a compliment, he goes off the far white side of the aisle along with other far white wing nuts, Ted "and that's the way it is" Poe, Gohmert, Neugebauer, Marchant, and Carter by supporting the after birth movement.

Of the 10 co-sponsors enlisted by Posey, six are from Texas, including Poe, Culberson, Gohmert, Neugebauer, Kenny Marchant, R-Coppell and John Carter, R-Round Rock.

Pete Session, Republican hypocrite of the week

Just when you think a member of the republican party can't get any more hypocritical than being a "Christian Conservative" while banging a hooker, loving on a hot wise Argentina woman, or having an affair with your 22 year old intern, Congressman Pete Session comes forward as a candidate for republican hypocrite of the week.

Turns out Session, from Dallas, who called earmarks “a symbol of a broken Washington to the American people.” received $1.6m for a blimp company in Chicago, using an address for the request to Congress in Dallas, an address that happens to be the address of a close friend of the owner of the blimp company.

Good crowd. All the candidates are here, as well as Roy Morales. City Councilman James Rodriguez has opened the event. Minerva Perez, former journalist for KTRK is the moderator.

Opening statements:

Roy Morales
Wow. Morales is not bilingual! That is a shock. Didn't expect the other candidates to be, but was surprised to hear Morales was not. Well, no wonder he doesn't like immigrants! Morales starts his opening statement. He was a decorated veteran.

More from the party of "Family values"

It just doesn't get any better (worse) than this. Former Republican Congressman Chip Pickering's former wife has filed suit against Pickering's girlfriend for "alienation of affection". Pickering left his wife and 5 kids for Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd.
The lawsuit says Chip Pickering and Creekmore Byrd were having an affair while Pickering was in Congress and living in a Christian facility for lawmakers on C Street near the U.S. Capitol. He retired from Congress in January and joined a lobbying firm.
Who is Elizabeth and which lobbying firm?
Creekmore-Byrd is on the board of Telepak, which owns Cellular South. The wireless carrier, based in Ridgeland, "secured the services" of lobbying firm Capitol Resources, which "employed (Chip) Pickering and has created an office in Washington, D.
