Smells like desperation
In answer to your headline question, most people remember him. They just don't care. Because he's not on the ballot. It's a completely different black guy. I know, weird, right?

They don't *want* to remember
If they brought him up again, it would remind Americans that Obama is, in fact, a Christian. NOT a Muslim. And since that doesn't jibe with the narrative they're trying to sell, Wright is conveniently no longer mentioned.
