Democracy in action
Well, I'm sorry. This is what a Democracy, a Republic is about. I happen to agree with the ban, but it's more about the law. In this case, and in other cases around the country, the majority voted for specific piece of legislation. In CA, it was overturned on a technicality, not this time. This is how to properly blunt liberal attempts at trying to "legislate" from the bench. Not everyone is going to be happy all the time, there's no Constitutional right to happiness.
Equal Protection Clause
Don't believe for a second that "the majority" can pass laws that restrict the rights of minority citizens. I doubt this ludicrous fight is over. Check out the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. All kinds of laws can be passed but if they don't hold up constitutionally, they are kaput. This, apparently, is what wack-jobs call "legislating from the bench".
If you want to live by your god's law, go buy an island. The US has laws based on the rights of men.
Public balloting
Civil Rights are not subject to majority vote, nor does any government have any legitimate right to dictate who people can marry.
This ban is religious dogma, done to persecute and oppress innocent people, and has no place in a free society.
Don't like gay marriage? Don't have one. Meanwhile, mind your own freaking business, and get your sky-fairy out of real people's lives, which don't concern you.
