Pollina camp sees first presser as success

Progressive gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina delivered his first campaign press conference in the Cedar Creek Room at the State House today.

Pollina used the event to focus on the Douglas budget.

“I am increasingly concerned that the budget proposed by Governor Jim Douglas will drive up the cost of living for many Vermonters while offering income tax cuts to wealthier Vermonters,” Pollina said in his prepared remarks. “I am concerned about what I see as tax increases for many of us. And, I am concerned about the attitude with which the Governor approaches the budget process.”

Campaign coordinator Meg Brook says the event was well-attended, with about 40-50 people in the room. Brook said the campaign expects to pick up extensive print, radio, and TV coverage.
