The Vermont Democratic Party will host its Ninth Annual David W. Curtis Awards on Friday, April 25, an event that will honor state Senator Doug Racine of Chittenden County and state committeewoman Dottie Deans of Windsor County.

"This is our biggest event/fundraiser of the year," wrote Executive Director Jill Krowinski in an email to PolitickerVT.com

This year's dinner is headlined by Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut and will feature past recipients Senator Patrick Leahy, Congressman Peter Welch and House Speaker Gaye Symington.

The David W. Curtis Leadership Awards were established in honor of Curtis, who served as chairman of the Vermont Democratic Party from 1997 to 1999.
