Vermont Democratic Party launches program to protect voters at the polls

The Vermont Democratic Party announced Thursday its plan to ensure that eligible voters will have access to polling stations across the state.

The Democratic Party has organized a team of lawyers to be ready on election night should voters encounter any problems at the polls and established a voter hotline that Vermonters can call should any problems arise.

"In this important election, it is critical that all eligible Vermont voters who want to cast a ballot are able to do so," said Richard Cassidy, one of the attorneys on the Vermont Democratic Party's voter protection team in a statement on Thursday. "That is why I'm pleased to be working with the Vermont Democratic Party on its voter protection efforts."

For the general election on Nov. 4, polls will open between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m and will close at 7 p.m.
