Pollina endorses Obama

Progressive Party gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina has endorsed presidential candidate Barak Obama (D-Ill.). Pollina wrote in a press release, "I share his background as a community organizer and understand what this brings to a campaign and elected office. We have seen over the last year, his ability to step outside the political rhetoric and inspire people of all ages and background. I whole heartedly endorse Barack Obama."

Chester board appoints interim town manager

The Chester Select Board has appointed a new town manager according to The Rutland Herald. Julie Hance was selected to fill the position of interim town manager following Susan S. Spaulding's decision to leave after 14 years of service.

"Hopefully, this will be short-term, but we don't know for sure," chairman Richard G. Jewett told the Herald.

Democratic Party says it didn’t reject Pollina’s ‘combined effort’ offer

Earlier today Anthony Pollina, the Progressive Party candidate for governor, said that the Democratic State Committee refused to meet with him about "a combined effort" to defeat Republican Gov. Jim Douglas, but the Democratic Party tells PolitickerVT.com that's just not the case.

Pollina ‘absolutely not’ running for Lt. Governor

Anthony Pollina will "absolutely not" be running for lieutenant governor under any circumstances, his campaign manager Meg Brooks told PolitickerVT.com. Though, she noted that "everything was considered to a certain degree."

The Progressive Party gubernatorial candidate held a press conference today to announce that he was definitely still in the race despite Democrat Gaye Symington getting into the race on May 12.

Pollina presses on in bid for governor

Progressive Party gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina is continuing with his bid for the state's highest office this afternoon.

Pollina told reporters at a press conference on the steps of Burlington city hall that he plans on staying in the race, and wanted to "end the speculation and to outline a strategy for winning the office of governor of Vermont."
